The best female soccer players from Connolly, Stang, Case, Diman, Durfee
FALL RIVER – The Grand Fall River high school football teams are just a few games away in their first full season of fall competition since 2019.
Bishop Connolly, Bishop Stang, Joseph Case, Diman, Durfee, Somerset Berkley and Westport are all set to race to the playoffs and beyond.
Here’s a look at the top 33 female football players in the Grand Fall River region.
Bishop Connolly
Head Coach Alishya Lyne
Record: 3-2
Logo: Cougars
Head coach Alishya Lyne is looking for a solid season with the Cougars this fall.
Paving the way for Lyne is a senior forward and Herald News 2021 Fall II Player of the Year Hannah anselmo, who is the all-time leading scorer in school history. She has goals scored in double digits so far in five games.
Another exciting player is junior Bethany Slivka, which is close to double digits in the scored goal. Senior winger Isabelle Rodrigue is also a dynamic goalscorer who is an excellent playmaker
First-year student Ava Besse is stable in defense and is calm with the ball in his possession.
Bishop Stang
Head Coach: Robert Shields

Logo: Spartans
Bishop Stang is ready to compete with the best in the Catholic Central League.
Paving the way for Spartans head coach Robert Shield as senior forward Lily shields, who recently scored five goals in one game.
Another talented player is a freshman Izzy Bromage, who also scored three goals in one game. Junior midfielder Taylor oliveira and Kate Carreau are ready to contribute after missing games from last season. First year goalie Meg Pimental take over in net.
Joseph case

Case hopes to start as the season enters October.
One of the players to watch is a senior captain and a midfielder Victoria Bettencourt. Senior captain and goalkeeper Abigail Sirois, who is a respected leader, has gone from defense to goalkeeper.
Second-year defender Kambree Nell is already the leader in defense and was a very reliable player every minute of every game last season.
Junior midfielder Veronique Araujo is a strong defensive player, communicates with other players and understands the game very well.
Sunday
Head Coach: Flo Lima
Record: 5-2
Logo: Bengals
Diman is ready to challenge his opponents at the Mayflower Athletic Conference Large this fall.
Paving the way for head coach Flo Lima is head captain Emily gonzalez. Gonzalez plays forward, midfield and defense. She is a skilled player with a high IQ.
Second year midfielder / striker Elizabeth kinnane has great ball skills and owns a very good shot. Senior sweeper Julia Louro play hard and smart. Midfielder Kiara almeida defends well, distributes the ball very well and has very good knowledge of the pitch.
Durfee
Manager: Hayden Tavares
Summary: 5-2-1
Logo: Hilltoppers
Durfee, under first-year head coach Hayden Tavares, is getting into the fall season quickly. Paving the way for the Tavares group is Julia hargraves.
Other talented offensive players are Emma McDonnell and Amilia Dias. Junior Captain Zoey Silvestre leads the defensive effort with strong junior support Julia matos and first year student Abigail Saunders.
Junior Destani Alua-Rioux can also illuminate it.
Somerset Berkley
Head Coach: Kasey Jeronimo
Registration: 2-3-3
Logo: Raiders
The Raiders have a lot of talent to compete with just about anyone in the South Coast Conference this fall. Paving the way for SB head coach Kasey Jeronimo is the junior defender Alex cook.
Senior midfielder Ashlyn Aguiar is tough on the ball and threatens to score at all times.
Keeping the net is senior Katie hives, who keeps his team in games with great saves and leadership.
Gabby Fernandes and Alyssa cheetham are also strong players.
Westport
Head Coach: Gary Muello
Assessment: 2-5-1
Logo: Wildcats
Westport has been on the wrong side of the scoreboard to start the season.
Many of the Wildcats’ games have been generally close and contested.
Some of head coach Gary Muello’s talented players are senior midfielders Laura Martel and Jesse skov.
Lily Pichette is another player capable of enlightening him. Goalkeeper Abigail Krzyszton has a shutout to his credit for the season.
