Sonny Perkins has made a big impression on the Leeds coaching staff
Sonny Perkins has already made quite an impression on the Leeds United coaching staff following his summer move from West Ham, according to a report by The Athletic.
Perkins’ move to Elland Road was recently confirmed. The 18-year-old left the London Stadium after failing to agree a new contract with the Hammers.
The starlet was unable to play for Jesse Marsch in pre-season. But it looks like he took little time to get into position when he knocked on the manager’s door.

It seemed like a coup for Leeds to sign Perkins in the summer. He was lucky enough to make his West Ham debut during their Europa League run last season.
And reports have claimed that Tottenham are keen to sign the teenager before he decides to join Leeds. So Los Blancos certainly seem to have some highly rated talent on their hands.
Clearly, Leeds have had real success signing young players in recent years. Joe Gelhardt is arguably one of the most exciting talents in the Premier League right now.
But Los Blancos also have players like Sam Greenwood and Crysencio Summerville pushing for a chance in the first team. The Athletic note that all three players are in talks over a new contract.
Perkins has some hurdles to jump before being a first-team player at Elland Road, it seems. But the first signs seem extremely positive.
