Pope added to women’s lacrosse coaching staff


ITHAQUE, NY – Ithaca College Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Karrie moore is pleased to announce the addition of Caroline Pape as a full-time assistant coach for the upcoming 2022 season. Pope comes to Ithaca College after spending the last two seasons as an assistant and defensive coordinator at his alma mater, Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham in Madison, NJ

“We are delighted to welcome Caroline to our team. She brings great knowledge and enthusiasm and will be a huge asset in further developing our program, ”said Moore.

As a coach at FDU, Pape assisted the Devils in the program’s undefeated first regular season in 2021 and a second round trip to NCAA Division III. Pape has assisted in various ways within the program over the past two years, including planning and organizing practices for competition preparation, recruiting, fundraising, monitoring academic progress, and managing of the team’s social media accounts.

“I am delighted to join Karrie (Moore) and the Ithaca College team, and delighted to be a part of the positive history and culture of which I have only heard great things,” said Pope. “My experiences at FDU, and the people I spent time with, have prepared and only reinforced the passion I have for this game and the coaches and players I teach and learn with every I’m excited to find a new perspective and learn from this team and Karrie as we continue to grow and excel in the lacrosse world. ”

Pape also obtained coaching experience at Center Court Sports Academy in Morristown, New Jersey, where she was the head coach of the women’s lacrosse program for over a year. From November 2018 to March 2020, Pape was also head coach at Building Blocks Lacrosse in Florham, NJ.paper 2

A 2019 FDU-Florham graduate, Pape ended her career being named MAC Freedom offensive player of the year after scoring 53 goals and 50 assists. She was selected from First Team All-Region IWLCA, First Team All-MAC Freedom and First Team All-ECAC and became the third person in program history to record over 100 points or more in a season (53 goals, 50 assists). She also broke the season-long record for most points in a game with 13 (eight goals, five assists against Moravian 15/4/19).

The Flourtown, Pa. Native concluded her four years with 86 goals and 73 assists while adding 161 rushing balls, 87 rushing balls and 153 draw controls.

Pape received his BA in Psychology and his MA in Psychological Studies and Sport and Exercise Psychology from Seton Hall University in December 2020.
