Northern Michigan University Wildcats women’s soccer team recognized for academic achievement | News, Sports, Jobs


MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University women’s soccer team was among the recipients of a College Team Academic Award from United Soccer Coaches, the university announced recently.

These Wildcats were recognized for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 college year as one of 501 women’s teams with a 3.0 or higher grade point average.

The NMU team had a combined GPA of 3.51 and was one of three recognized GLIAC teams. The Wildcats open their fall season in Minnesota at St. Cloud State on Aug. 25, then welcome another Minnesota school, Bemidji State, on Friday, Sept. 2, to open their slate at NMU Soccer Field.
