Men’s soccer announces 2021 schedule
PHILADELPHIA CREAM – Senior Men’s Football Coach Brian rowland announced the team’s 2021 schedule. The Owls will look to build on a successful 2020-21 season that saw the team finish with a 5-4-2 record and a second straight trip to the American Athletic Conference tournament.
“The team and I are very excited about the upcoming season and starting our preparation for a very difficult schedule. We have been able to maintain strong local rivalries as well as build on more recent rivalries. and national profile matches, âRowland said. âThe strength of our conference has continued to grow year on year, and the new round robin format has only improved competitiveness within the AAC. Our goal every year is to compete for the championships, and this year’s schedule will no doubt prepare our team to do just that.
The Owls will play three exhibition games against some top programs for a pre-season tune-up. First Temple will travel to College Park to face Maryland (August 14), before a road game against Delaware (August 16). The Owls will then return to Philadelphia to host the St. John’s Red Storm on August 20.
Temple will begin the season with consecutive trips to New Jersey to face Big Ten opponent Rutgers (August 26) and Big East opponent Seton Hall (August 30). The Owls will then open the home leg of the calendar with a four-game homestand. Cherry and White will host Manhattan (September 4), Villanova (September 11) and Georgetown (September 14), before kicking off the conference with SMU Mustangs (September 18).
Next comes a trip to Orlando to face the reigning UCF conference champion (Sept. 24). Temple then returns home to face Memphis on September 29, followed by a visit to the Mustangs on October 3.
The Owls kick off a two-game home game with one game against the Princeton Tigers (Oct.6) before returning to conference three days later with a visit from USF (Oct.9). The Cherry and White will then head to Tulsa to face the Golden Hurricane on October 16.
A Philly Soccer Six fight against Penn (October 19) concludes a brief stint on the road for the Owls before UCF heads to Temple Sports Complex (October 22). Temple will visit Memphis again (October 27) before concluding the home program with Tulsa for the second year in a row on October 31.
The Cherry and White will play a single game in November to end the regular season against USF (November 5), with the US Athletic Conference Championship starting November 10. The semi-finals and the championship (November 13) will take place. on the host site for seed n Â° 1.
