Liverpool coaches firmly believe the 25-year-old will improve further
Liverpool coaching staff expect Luis Diaz to continue to improve as he settles into club life.
It depends Athleticismwho claim there is a “strong belief” among the coaches that he has yet to reach his peak.
Staff believe Diaz is ‘just getting started’ at Liverpool and will continue to improve.
Diaz was brilliant against Villarreal on Tuesday night. But the example is given that he could have actually scored even more than the only goal he managed.
Diaz announces himself
There has been near universal acclaim for Diaz since joining the Reds in January. His arrival was the catalyst for Liverpool to end the season incredibly strong, with four trophies still possible.
That acclaim peaked on Tuesday night when he played a significant role in guiding Liverpool to the Champions League final.
However, there is certainly still room for improvement from the flying Colombian.
Still a lot to work on
Jurgen Klopp explained how, with games coming so quickly, he preferred to let Diaz play his natural game. With little time to work on tactical ideas, it seemed to work like a charm.
But as pre-season approaches, Klopp will be keen to dig deeper into what is expected of his player both in and out of possession.
Diaz seems deft defensively, but the manager has spoken before about improving that aspect of his game. He also tends to hold onto the ball a bit too long in the final third.
These are minor details, however. They will surely be ironed out as Diaz works more with his new teammates and coaches.
For now, we should just enjoy the electricity and unpredictability he brought to Liverpool. Without him, the Reds might still have been fighting on all fronts.
But with him, they have a much better chance of accomplishing their impossible mission.
