Gasogi United have announced the appointment of Egyptian coach Ahmed Abdelrahman Adel and his assistant Bahaaeldin Ibrahim for the upcoming 2022/23 football season.

The duo put pen to paper on Monday July 18 at club headquarters after agreeing to coach the club on a one-year contract, with an option to renew for a further 12 months.

During the presentation of the new coaching staff to the press, club president Charles Nkuriza Kakooza, commonly known as KNC, said the new coaches had everything needed to make Gasogi a title-challenging club. .

“Their task is to transform Gasogi from an ordinary club into challengers for the title. This man [Adel] has a combative character that I like on the sideline. I am confident that we will achieve a lot with them,” KNC said during the unveiling of the coaches.

During his unveiling, Adel revealed that he had rejected further job offers with KNC after presenting him with a clear football project he thought he would fit into as a coach.

“Before coming here, I had two offers from Saudi Arabia and South Africa, but I preferred to work with KNC at Gasogi because I had already heard of him and knew his project and I I think we can do something good together,” Adel told reporters.

The Rwandan Premier League season is just a month away from kicking off on August 19, and Adel and his assistant have no time to waste as they seek to start training sessions immediately. with the new club team.

“We are going to work hard over the next 30 days and we will have three training sessions a day to bring the players back to their best level,” he said.

Adel and Bahaaeldin Ibrahim are not new to Rwandan football, having previously coached top-flight club Musanze FC before returning to Egypt after covid-19 brought the league to a halt.
