Boaz de Martinsville named women’s soccer coach at PHCC | University
PHCC athletic director Brian Henderson announced Thursday that Grant Boaz has been officially named the fourth head coach of the Patrick Henry Community College women’s soccer team.
“As a former PHCC student and former student-athlete, Grant is an excellent candidate to lead our women’s soccer program,” Henderson said in a school statement. “It is already stepping up and showing the enthusiasm and passion for recruiting and developing the Lady Pat program. He deserved this opportunity to help build the next chapter in women’s soccer here at PHCC.
Accustomed to the area or to PHCC athletics, Boaz graduated from Martinsville High School in 2013 and joined the PHCC men’s soccer team in the fall. He received his Associate of Business Administration from PHCC in 2015 and his BS in Sports Management from North Carolina State University in 2018.
“It is an honor to be named the next head coach of the PHCC women’s soccer team,” said Boaz. “My experiences coaching at different levels, recruiting, building relationships and developing players will be very helpful to me in this new role.”
Over the past few years, Boaz has held a number of coaching positions including Assistant Coach at Ferrum College, Head Coach of Men’s Football at Carlisle School and Assistant Coach of the PHCC Men’s Football Team. Boaz also worked with the Piedmont Youth Soccer League and spent time helping the Martinsville High School boys’ soccer team.
