Arlington Soccer makes two hires |
The Arlington Soccer Association recently announced the hiring of two administrators.
Frank DeMarco has been named executive director. DeMarco was the club’s former assistant director of coaching since 2003.
Additionally, Joe Nemzer was cast as the director of the girls’ academy.
As interim executive director since October 2021, DeMarco has been contributing to the club for nearly two decades. DeMarco previously served as assistant director of coaching for Arlington Soccer and has experience coaching various teams in the organization.
“With impeccable football credentials and a keen business sense, he has a unique perspective given his technical expertise, but also as a parent looking for the best opportunities for the player and personal development of youngsters in our community on and off the field,” Arlington Football Council Chairman Brian Plesser said of DeMarco.
DeMarco is a former Division I player at Hofstra.
“I am grateful for the trust the board has placed in me and the continued support of the Arlington football community,” DeMarco said.
Nemzer brings a wealth of experience, having coached at all levels of football. In addition to his experience as a youth soccer coaching director, he has served as a collegiate head coach and has worked with professional soccer athletes in the National Women’s Soccer League.
“I couldn’t be more excited to start this journey at Arlington Soccer and work with this amazing coaching staff and talented group of young women,” said Nemzer, who currently serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Maryland women’s soccer team. .
Nemzer spent the last three years at Division III Delaware Valley University in Pennsylvania, where he served as the first full-time women’s soccer head coach in program history.
Nemzer played collegiately as a goalie for Division III Penn State Abington.
